Yoona is an independent multimedia artist + computer science student. Her academic and artistic practice exists in the liminal space between cyberspace and the offline world—a framework through which to remediate and recontexualize her lived experiences and the ever-shifting contexts of her queer Korean American identity.
Based in Wichita (Dallas) lands, Yoona is currently experimenting with poetry, her body, and alternative modes of performance as a means of creating new media and net.art. She uses code as a medium for digital storytelling—a process she feels is as tactile and sentimental as weaving together a quilt. Yoona is also a DJ, ex-barista, facilitator of a book club, zine-maker, and casual desktop performer—amongst other things.
